Buxom Lip Products

Hey ya'll!!

Today I'm going to share with you my Buxom Lip Product collection! I have mostly glosses, but there are some lipsticks too. I will have hand swatches and lip swatches for you as well. Buxom is one of my absolute favorite brand of lip glosses. They are super thick and creamy, and have a minty/tingly/plumping feeling to them. There are over 100 different shades on the Sephora website, so there's definitely a color for everyone.

This first set of glosses are my favorite shades of the bunch. From left to right I have Amber, White Russian, and Celeste. Amber is a very pretty peach shade, White Russian is a creamy pinky-nude shade, and Celeste is a shimmery peach shade. All of these are much loved and are perfect for every day. I use these three shades more than any other lip glosses in my collection. I can pick any of these three, throw them in my purse, and my lips are set for any occasion.

This next set I received separately, all gifts with purchase types of things. They are also my least used. From left to right I have Dolly, Sweet Thing, and Nicole. After pulling these out for today's post, I realized that I really need to start using Dolly more because it's really pretty. It's a shimmery purple/mauve shade that I think will be great for Fall. Sweet Thing is a color that I definitely wouldn't have chosen for myself. It's a hot orangey-pink shade and just doesn't look great on me. Nicole is a shimmery berry color, again one that I wouldn't have chosen for myself. I do like it more than I do Sweet Thing though.

The last two are the Full On Lipsticks in the shades Amsterdam (left) and Havana (right). Amsterdam is literally a "my lips but better" shade. It matches my natural lip color almost perfectly. Havana is a gorgeous wine color. Both have the same tingly feeling as the glosses. They are really easy to apply and have lasting power. Amsterdam is super opaque, creamy, and leans toward the matte side. Havana really makes me sad. The color is gorgeous, but it gets a little patchy, and breaks up on my lips sometimes. It's so weird because it doesn't always do that. I think it has to do with how dry and how moisturized my lips are. Most of the time, lip products work best with hydrated, moisturized lips. But for some reason, Havana works better if my lips are completely dry, no lip balm and no moisture. I definitely have to make sure my lips are exfoliated before I wear it, but I definitely can't have any kind of lip balm or moisture on my lips, or it breaks up and looks like a complete mess.

YLS Lip Product Collection

Today I wanted to share with you my YSL Lip Product Collection. I started collecting about two years ago and it has slowly been growing ever sense. YSL has quite a few different lipstick, and lip product categories. I have products from four out of the ten categories. The packaging is the first thing most people notice. It's so luxurious and absolutely gorgeous. YSL definitely has the most beautiful packaging out of any other brand. The YSL line is pretty pricey. If you are going to splurge on a lipstick, or a lip product, I highly suggest getting a color that you can wear every day, that way you get the most bang for your buck.

YSL Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick SPF 15
The Silky Sensual Lipsticks are very creamy, and very pigmented. They completely cover up your natural lip color. These lipsticks should be kept in a cool, or room temperature area. Do not leave them in a hot car because they will melt. I have three shades from this category. From Left to Right they are #1 Nude Beige, #3 Beige Ultimate, and #4 Sweet Honey. The shade #1 Nude Beige was the first YSL lipstick I ever purchased. It's the ultimate pinky nude, and is a cult favorite. It looks great on almost everyone, but for some reason it doesn't look that great on me. It looks gorgeous swatched, but when it's on my lips it kind of washes me out. If I wear this is have to either mix it with another color, or wear a gloss over it. The shade #3 Beige Ultimate is a very warm, rusty brown color. This color looks really great with a tan. Some people don't like brown shades like this, but they work really well with my skin tone. The shade #4 Sweet Honey reminds me of the color of peanut butter. It unfortunately is discontinued, but I was lucky enough to find mine on eBay. Only thing is, it was meant to be a tester, so instead of the gold cap, it's just a clear plastic cap. It really does a number on my OCD because it doesn't match the rest of my collection.

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine
This is my favorite lipstick formula. They are much more sheer than the Silky Sensual Lipsticks, and more glossy. They kind of feel like a balm on the lips, which is what I really like in a lipstick. The shades I have from Left to Right are #15 Corail Intuitive, #2 Pourpre Intouchable, and #9 Nude in Private. The shade #15 was the first shade I purchased in the Shine category. It's a gorgeous coral shade, I absolutely love it. I recently hauled #2 and #9. I really love all three of these shades. When it comes to a dark lip, I prefer berry colors to reds because they suit me and my skin tone so much better. I decided to purchase #2 because I didn't have any sheer berry shade in my makeup collection. All my berry shades are either matte, or very pigmented. The shade #2 is the perfect sheer, balmy berry color. I purchased the shade #9 because it's a very pretty, natural, everyday shade. It looks really great with a natural makeup look, or with a really smoked out look.

YSL Pur Couture Vernis A Levres Glossy Stains & YSL Volupte Sheer Candy Glossy Balm
I combined the last two categories since I only have one and two from each. The shades I have in the Glossy Stains are #27 Peche Cerra-Cola and #12 Coril Fauve. I only have one shade from the Glossy Balm category and it is #4 Succulent Pomegranate. I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of any of these except for the Glossy Stain in #27. Peche Cerra-Cola is a nice coral shade, and looks awesome when paired with the Shine in #15 Corail Intuitive. The Stain in #27 and the Balm in #4 are just the wrong shades for me, I don't know what I was thinking when I bought these two, but the colors are all wrong for my skin tone. The stains are long wearing, but I just don't really like them all that much. The texture is different, they go on like a gloss and dry to a stain. They feel kind of sticky on the lips. The Balm's are nice, but I don't really think they are worth the price tag.

Too Faced Bronzers

I love bronzer. It adds color and dimension to the face, making it look healthy and awake. Bronzer can be used to sculpt the face, creating shadows and angles to define your face to your liking. It's an absolute must in my makeup routine, I just can't live without it.

Today I'm sharing with you my Too Faced Bronzers. I have three in total. They are all very different from each other and can all be used in different ways.

Pink Leopard
Pink Leopard is a "blushing bronzer". It has three shades in one - a bronzing shade, a blush shade, and a highlight shade. I used this quite a bit when I first got it, as you can see I've hit pan. When I started adding more bronzers to my collection this one kind of got put on the back burner. After pulling it out for this post, I remember how much I did like it at one point. This product is definitely not a contouring bronzer. I like to use it as a blush, or on top of a blush as a highlight, when I'm tan. When my skin is more fair, it works nicely at bronzing up my face. It's not my go-to bronzer, but I'm going to try and use it more this month to see if I can find my love for it again.

Chocolate Soleil
Chocolate Soleil is a very popular bronzer, and for good reason. It's beautiful! And the smell, YUM! It smells just like chocolate and is actually made with real cocoa powder. This is one of my favorite bronzers for contouring. It's a warm chocolate brown shade, is not orange at all, and is completely matte. Not only do I use this for contouring, but it's really pretty for just bronzing up the face. Matte bronzers are the safest route for anyone of any age. But just like anything, less is more. You don't want to start contouring, or bronzing, with a heavy hand. Start with a small amount, and build the color up from there - don't forget to blend. You will get a much better result this way.

Sun Bunny
Sun Bunny is a "natural bronzer". It has two different shades and does have a slight shimmer to it. Some people shy away from shimmery bronzers, but if applied correctly they can be really pretty. This one is no exception, it's beautiful! I do not use this as a contour, I only use it as a bronzer to add color to my face. You don't want to use a shimmery bronzer as a contour. Matte bronzers are the best option for contouring because they create a shadow, making certain areas of your face appear smaller. Shimmery bronzers add color to your face by giving you a "sun-kissed glow". The shimmer will actually attract light, and if used as a contour will make certain areas appear larger than they really are. This is a really great product for bronzing up the face. You can use each shade separately, or you can swirl them both together which is what I like to do.
